June and July 2026 member and employer contributions

Several members have queried whether the June and July 2026 member and employer contributions have been received by the Fund from the City of Johannesburg and the Municipal Entities. The Fund can confirm that all the June and July 2026 member and employer contributions were received timeously and have been allocated to member records.

Changes affecting the High Growth Portfolio

The trustees have changed some of the asset managers who are managing the assets of the Fund's High Growth Portfolio, which consequently changes the assets invested in the various available asset classes. The allocation of ongoing contributions to the High Growth Portfolio (and the withdrawal of assets to pay benefits) has also been changed.

The changes are set out in the Fund's August 2026 Newsletter which can be viewed below. The current asset allocations and cashflows are set out in the Investment Policy Statement Summary and the Investment Counselling Document on the Investments Page of the website.

Video of the Fund's monthly Investment Fact Sheets

A short video has been prepared explaining the Fund's latest Investment Fact Sheets and it is also available with Zulu subtitles. To view them, please see the links at the bottom of this Home Page.

Savings Pot withdrawals

If you are considering taking a Savings Pot withdrawal from your Fund benefit, please remember the following:

  1. If you have previously taken a Savings Pot withdrawal and did not pay tax (or didn't pay sufficient tax) on this withdrawal, then SARS is likely to require this tax (and any other arrear tax you owe SARS) to be deducted from your next Savings Pot withdrawal (referred to as a SARS IT88 directive). This means that you may only receive a small payment or no payment at all (depending on the amount of tax you owe SARS).

  2. To receive a Savings Pot benefit from the Fund, your personal details held by the Fund and especially your cellphone number must be correct. Please note that any such details must be updated though your Human Resources Departments and you cannot approach the Fund’s Administrator directly to update your details.

  3. You are only permitted to take one Savings Pot withdrawal in each tax year.

  4. For security reasons, your Savings Pot withdrawal benefit can only be paid into the same bank account into which your salary is paid. These bank account details are provided to the Fund’s Administrator by your employer each month via the contribution file.

  5. It is important that you consider the information provided on the Two Pot information page.
